{SPOTLIGHT REVIEWS} Burning Barriers (Barriers #3) by Sara Shirley

Front Cover

Burning Barriers (Barriers #3) by Sara Shirley
My rating: ★★★★ 4 of 5 stars

Seven years later Lucy Wyatt returns to her hometown of Breckenridge, Colorado to recover from a recent encounter that almost took her and her best friend’s life away. Going home means a possible encounter with her first and only true love, Jake Galloway, a man she has never reveal to anyone who he is to her and afraid to admit out loud her true feelings of him.

Teaser 1Although Jake professed his love to Lucy back in high school he did not want to be committed in a relationship and wanted to live a college life with his buddies. Something he has always regretted since she walked away and moved east seven years ago. He catches Lucy driving on familiar streets again and he is determined to prove to her that she is the only one for him.

“It’s as though we’re back where we used to be, and nothing has changed, but yet everything has changed.”

Teaser 3This is the first book I have read from this series and for being a new author on my list; this 4 stars reads did not disappoint. This is a story of two people who never really got over each other regardless of where their life took them. Is it possible for your one true love, your soul mate to still be the one regardless of how things were left off? There were many moments that this book had me thinking and feeling things I least expected and had me questioning the characters actions. Love is not easy especially if it is the one you are meant to be with.
