Two brothers.

One woman.

One son.

One choice.

Lives ripped apart, shattered and rebuilt.

Evan and Nate Archer: Brothers, best friends, warriors and now enemies. Both in love with the same woman. Both determined to fight for what they want.

Nate Archer promised to protect Ryley Clarke in the event Evan didn’t make it back. It’s a promise between brothers since the early days of basic training. Nate never considered that his feelings, long buried since high school, would resurface and grow stronger.

Evan Archer wants answers. He wants someone to pay. After being gone for an unprecedented amount of time, nothing is making sense now that he’s home. Most of all, he can’t understand how his brother ended up engaged to his fiancée. Evan is determined to uncover the mystery, and win back his family.

The Archers are about to fight dirty.

Choose Me (The Archer Brothers #2) by Heidi McLaughlin
My rating: ★★★★✩ 4.5 of 5 stars

This book continues where Nate Archer returns from a training mission. When Evan Archer and Ryley Clarke gets back home from a day at the beach the three of them finally come face to face with one another.

She’s a woman being torn in half by two men, both of whom she loves for different reasons, both of whom want her for themselves.

Choose Me Teaser 1Evan has been gone for 6 years…well as far as every one is concern he has died while serving his country, was buried, and was mourned and grieved by family, friends, and the military. Finally home he is greeted with no homecoming and questioning more on the mission he was just on. He did not think much of it at the time of his arrival back until he finds out that the love of his life, his fiancée, is engaged to his twin brother, Nate and his son, EJ calls him dad.

One thing is for certain is he is determined to fight for what is his. To get his life back with his love, his other half, Ryley, the want and need to be a father to EJ, as well as looking for some DAMN answers why he is facing this ugly nightmare that he is in.

Nate has been there for Ryley since he has gotten word that his brother and best friend, Evan has died while on active duty. His future plans all changed from that one news especially after his promise to protect Ryley (if anything would have happened) and has stood by and was there for her along with her son. After years of grieving and gradually finally moving on in life, Nate and Ryley begin growing closer to each other and eventually fell in love. Determined to keep the family he loves unconditionally regardless of the return of his brother from the dead.

Choose Me Teaser3“I wish there was a book full of answers or that Magic 8 Ball I had when I was a kid actually worked, but neither are realistic. Everything is so screwed up and I hate that I’m hurting the two men I love like this.”

Ryley, is torn by two brothers, twins too! One she is still in love with, her soul mate, and the biological father of EJ since she literally got hit in the head in High School and Nate when her world fell apart after loosing Evan. A man she has fallen in love with that has been there to pick up the broken pieces and has been a father to her son.

This 4 stars story had my mind in a freaking whirlwind of emotions. The cringing, frustrating, and conflicted scenes in the story had me itching to freaking ring someone neck! Just the decisions that Ryley had to pick between two brothers who she loves dearly is one that has have me broken and emotionally drained since Evan showed up on their doorstep. Nate, Evan, and Ryley’s story will screw your heart and the answers and the decision made will either make you or break you. Which in turn makes this story one to read!
