First person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? …..yeah, about that….

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay… Scratch that. She knows she hasn’t had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a “to do” list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it’s impossible to get hurt… again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she’s never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he’s willing to take the chance when it’s more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

RenReads Teaser 3All Played Out by Cora Carmack
My rating: ★★★★★ 5 of 5 stars

Antonella De Luca is so freaking adorably clueless. She gets flustered so easily. I love how smart and strong and steadfast she is. How she tackles life is just entrancing. How she transformed into this beautiful lady with the help of her list and of Mateo, of course. I somehow see myself in her too. How she just drowned herself in homework and studying? That was so much like me before. I did have friends, but I just wanted to blend in the background and you’ll do anything to keep yourself occupied so you won’t notice how other people around you gather and have tons of fun. Her witty humor just got me. Every time she went toe to toe with Mateo with the bantering? I was so amazed.

RenReads Teaser 2Mateo Torres is this typical jock with all that confidence, flashiness and shamelessness a jock can actually possess. He’s not afraid to hide. He says whatever he’s got going on in his head and he never, and I mean never, hesitates to flirt away. Though what nobody knows is the real reason behind that personality he tries so hard to convey. Why he is the way he is when he started at Rusk. Mateo is just so fucking sweet when he wants to be. I swear I’m dying of the small gestures he does to Nell. My heart feels like it’s getting squeezed tighter and tighter as I progress in reading the book. I wanted to jump his bones and smother him with kisses and snuggle up to him every single time. I’m surprised Nell didn’t melt into mush when Mateo did all those sweet RenReads APO Teaser 1things. When he stated to get serious, everything just started to make more sense to him—hell, to both of them. And the way he is with Nell? Ever since the beginning—I was so done for. Hey, he’s not perfect, but I fell so fucking in love with him. That thing he did at the end? It just sealed the deal. Yep. Sorry Silas, someone’s stealing your throne in my Rusk University heart.

Nell blossomed, Mateo started to walk the straight and narrow. They complemented each other from the very start without even knowing. They both helped one another reach something they were striving for. Deep inside, they knew they needed one another to grow without even realizing it. It just captivated me how good they actually were together, how they get each other so much, and how they actually knew APO Teaser 1what the other needed without even saying anything. What they have made me yearn so badly to have something so similar to the fun and carefree, but sure love they had for one another.

Yes, Cora Carmack just gets better and better every time. She’s a fucking genius and if you didn’t like this book—I’m sorry, what? No, it’s just not possible for you not to love this one. Right off the bat, you will definitely get hooked. I’m still basking at the feeling I have right now after reading APO. It’s like I’m on a high—six foot two high to be exact, yeah? *deep sighs* Now, I’m just waiting for the next big boom. Stella Santos is definitely going to blow our minds and we have to be prepared for All Closed Off.
