First of all, I have to put this out there: Pepper Winters’ words are PHENOMENAL. She has this way of saying things that just cut deeper, make you feel the emotions more. I can’t really explain it, but I almost highlighted the entire book with every single thing she wrote. It’s nitty and gritty and she made sure you’d feel everything she wanted to convey. I, myself, felt so lost the entire time I read this. My stomach dropped, my heart was crushed, the pain was bone deep. It
was passion, love, agony, fear and confusion wrapped in a splendid MC story. I think this is by far my favorite MC book—and to think I haven’t even read the next book yet. I don’t even know how this will end, but it is just that damn good. It will leave you frantically turning the pages, desperate to know what comes next. You won’t even notice how fast you’re going through the book with how amazing it is.
Then there’s Arthur “Kill” Killian. Oh my lord, this man twisted everything inside of me. He was hard and soft, brooding and sweet, broken and controlled, determined and anguished all at
the same time. I fell in love with his mind. He’s a fucking genius—his high IQ should be illegal, but come on, that made him all the more attractive for me. He was like a walking calculator, finding solving math problems relaxing and his sanctuary. But then, would you think someone this smart actually came from a biker background? Oh yeah, he’s a bad boy all right. He has the looks of a stone-cold, ice-hearted, badass biker too. Though he never was like that before—growing up in the community he did, one big nightmare happened and his entire life changed. One plan set to motion when he wasn’t even old enough, and his life was ripped from right under his
feet. He died right along with it—his heart, his mind, his soul.
The only thing driving him now was vengeance—it was the only thing in his life left to live for. He wanted to avenge the death of the girl he loved his entire life and seek revenge from the people who did this to him. Who ruined him and the perfect life he envisioned—his future he had ahead of him, together with the love of his life. Now, he’s the biker president of a new club—ruling his own empire—and he’s been planning all these years on how to bring down the people who did him wrong. How to make them suffer worse
than he already has. And the situation—the war that’s about to erupt—just gets bigger and worse when he comes face to face with the girl who’s been haunting his dreams ever since that night, the girl who still holds his heart captive even after all these years, the girl he loved so much he’d give the world to her, the girl who has been the reason why he’s waging this war.
Again, I am beyond words with how splendid this book was written. The way Arthur became Kill. The way the clusterfuck of events just continue to unfold all throughout. That massive cliffhanger in the end—which by the way will have you wanting to tear your hair off your head, especially when you realize how the second book will be released not until January next year. I just can’t tell you too much without spoiling the greatness of everything inside this book. It captured my attention the entire ride, that’s for sure. I have no idea when it comes to motorcycle clubs, but this opened my mind to almost everything there is to know about it. The twists and turns had me reeling and craving for more. Arthur Killian’s story is just blazingly brilliant and will definitely take you to one of the wildest rides of your life.
