*This list is in the updating phase with more insight on how I caught sight of the books and linking to my reviews. 😉 Picking top favorite books is not an easy task. LOL!
This is the year where reading became a ritual need for me. In NO PARTICULAR ORDER this is my list for Top Favorites in 2014!
All book lovers have books that have wrecked them, screw them, & overwhelmed them. In this list it happens to be all part of a series:
*S.C. Stephens – Thoughtless Series
-Thoughtless (Thoughtless #1)
-Effortless (Thoughtless #2)
-Reckless (Thoughtless #3)
My sister recommended that I read Thoughtless. Not one of my favorite covers but curious about the synopsis had me wanting to check it out. Two words…KELLAN KYLE! I am at a lost when it comes to this series. I just…so many things to say but don’t know where to start. Needless to say without saying must that its A MUST-READ!
*Jay McLean – More Series
-More Than This (More Than #1)
-More Than Her (More Than #2)
-More Than Him (More Than #3)
-More Than Forever (More Than #4)
I will admit I tend to judge a book by its cover and the first book cover and synopsis had me intrigue. Early on in the first book had me teary eyed! AS the series continued the constant overwhelming surprises keep me hooked wanting to read more and learn more about the characters in each of the books. I laugh, I cried, I felt pain I did not think I can get in a book let along a series. To choose who is my favorite character is a choice I cannot make. Love this series to the moon and back! It was that good! 😉
*Anna Todd – After Series
-After (After #1)
-After We Collided (After #2)
-After We Fell (After #3)
So my friend knew that I was attending the LoveNVegas event and had told me about this series that she had highly recommend I read. It was the Authors debut event and believed that I would like it. I was hesitant after she told me that this was originally written as a One Direction FanFic but with any author events I go to I aim to read as much of authors books in attendance as I can and gave this one a go.
OMG! WTF? What did my friend get me into? I was sooooo hooked that this series became an addiction for me to read where and literally every chance I got. To the point that even volunteering in my daughter’s class did not stop me to get in some read in between activities. Whether I was at stop lights, and/or in store parking lots, if I had a few minutes this series was in my hands. These novels actually screwed me anything One Direction dealing with music that I had purchase their latest album Four to know more about their music and in my opinion was a soundtrack for the series. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! A whole new meaning for One Direction!
These are the books that has captured my heart and messed with my emotions:
*Colleen Hoover – Slammed Series
-Slammed (Slammed #1)
-Point of Retreat (Slammed #2)
-This Girl (Slammed #3)
*Colleen Hoover – Hopeless Series
Hopeless (Hopeless #1)
Losing Hope (Hopeless #2)
*Colleen Hoover – Maybe Someday
*Jessica Sorensen – The Coincidence Series with Callie & Kayden
-The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden (The Coincidence #1)
-The Redemption of Callie & Kayden (The Coincidence #2)
-The Resolution of Callie & Kayden (The Coincidence #3)
*My Unexpected Forever (The Beaumont Series #2) by Heidi McLaughlin
*Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan
*Bite & Release by Cory Cyr
*Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
That Girl by HJ Bellus
*KJ Bell – Battle
I chose to read and review this book because this author was going to be at the LoveNVegas event that I had attended in October. Not familiar with bull riding this story I took a chance on this story. Thank goodness I did! It was a story that melt my heart in bad and good ways.
*Penelope Ward – Stepbrother Dearest
This was highly recommended book and was given the sweet opportunity to read and review this story. It was one that I totally did not think I would easily get into and needless to say I could not put it down. The roller coaster of emotions had me wanting more for the characters but getting there was an obstacle course that they had to face.
*Raze – Tillie Cole
I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely author at the Authors in the OC event in October. I had heard nothing but good things about her books and even purchase her book Sweet Fall (Sweet Home #3) because it was a fellow Jaybird favorite book. I was given the opportunity to read and review a Tillie Cole book which happens to be a synopsis I am not familiar with nor a cover that was at first glance intriguing to me. I was hesitant at first but that was short lived. It is a story that will forever be in my heart.
